UPDATE 6/26/2013:
I'm super excited to announce that this blog post was chosen as a "winner" :) My family & I are looking forward to participating in all the fun things offered. I'll be sure to update all you out there in cyberspace with lots of photos & details of our trip! Thanks once again to Crayola & Coyne PR for choosing me!

As hard as it is to admit...I'm 30-something now. When I was a kid, I would spend hours drawing pictures, coloring in books and using my imagination to take me on adventures. Now that I'm a "grown up" (in age only) & have kids of my own, I love to watch them use Crayola products to draw, play & use their imaginations too. My oldest loves to make stories/comic books, my youngest loves to paint with watercolors & doodle on construction paper. Both my boys love to use sidewalk chalk in our giant blacktop driveway. I draw giant pictures for them to color in. You can see an example over there on the side...
Something else that stands out from my childhood is watching Mr. Roger's Neighboorhood. One episode in particular was my favorite...the one where they went to the crayon factory to see how all my favorite colors were made. Now I've been given an opportunity, thanks to the good folks @ Crayola & Coyne PR to enter a contest (here on my blog) to take my family to the Crayola Factory & have an official Crayola Experience!
The Crayola Factory is located in Easton, PA, which is just a short drive from my house. I've always wanted to go there, so here's my chance! There's lots of fun stuff to do at the Crayola Experience. Here's just a few of the things offered:
- Wrap It Up! You can customize an authentic Crayola label & wrap it around the color of your choice to create your own crayon. "Luscious Lavender" for me. Maybe "Radical Red" & "Licensed Sponge-type Character Yellow" for my boys!
- The Crayon Factory - Learn all about how crayons are made in a live theater show featuring a "Crayonologist" & animated crayon friends! Yes, finally...I can check something off my bucket list!
- Marker Mania - You can make custom multicolored markers from scratch! How great would they be for my son's comic book adventures?
- Color Playground - Here's where your kids can burn off some excess energy in this Crayola-inspired indoor playground. I don't know about your kids, but I know my boys have plenty ;)
- Art Alive! You can make your art come to life on huge projected surfaces! I'm not sure who would have more fun with this..me...my sons...or my husband...
